The
athlete Primo Nebiolo
His first sport attempts date back to 1939 when, only sixteen,
he enjoys practicing athletics at school, in particular 100
meters run and long jump, his favourite discipline. In that
same year he takes part in the “ludi juveniles”
in Bologna (youth game organised by the Fascist Youth Movement).
He competes also at the “Dopolavoro Ferroviario”,
and in 1940 he takes part in another “ludi juveniles”
competition which was held in Firenze. After taking his diploma
at the Liceo Margara, he enrols at the Faculty of Law and
continues to compete as University student in the Guf Torino
team.
When war broke out life became very difficult,
but Nebiolo continued to compete until the army enlisted him.
In 1944 the German soldiers arrested him, but he managed to
escape from jail and he then joined the partisans in “Monferrato”.
After the end of the War Nebiolo competed with Ganda sport
team and in 1946 he passed to the Lancia team until 1950.
